10,000 B.C.
I just watched this movie last night. I didn’t want to stay up late but I started the movie around 10pm and it went until a little after 12am. Not totally the movie’s fault as I was interrupted a few times by the wife and kids to do stuff but I was up late nonetheless.
Anyway, as far as the movie goes, it wasn’t too bad. I, like many others on Blockbuster.com, expected more but I didn’t completely know what the movie was about before getting it. I knew it had to do with way earlier times and people in loin cloths (no nudity though, dammit! Well, it was PG).
It wasn’t the best of movies, graphically, character-wise, plot-wise, acting-wise or otherwise, but if you take for what it is — a love story with action to fight for that one true love in an historic time period — the movie is enjoyable.
The average member (hehe, hehe, I said ‘member’) rating on Blockbuster online is three stars or ‘This movie was okay’ rating. I rated it at three and a half stars or ‘I liked this movie’ rating. Again, a lot of them went to the movie theater or rented the movie with the over or wrong expectations. I probably would have been disappointed if I paid $5 or more to see it but since I saw it for probably around $1, it was worth it to me.
There was one thing that bugged me and that was the “girl with the blue eyes” had some overly enhanced blue eyes to the extent that they seemed really fake. Yes, they probably were but when they actually seem that way is where there is an issue. It’s almost like the blue eyes in Dune after snorting the spice.
But I digress as I’m over anal-yzing the movie. Anyway, beg, borrow or steal it. It’s good and at least you don’t have to read 98% subtitles to follow the dialog or hear grunts with no subtitles.

So, basically, it’s cut and dry. He’s committed a crime. There were more than enough witnesses besides the obvious evidence. He’s guilty. Why was taxpayer dollars on him getting what the judicial system would call a “fair trial.” What would be fair is to have this man skinned alive or tarred and feathered.
Yet, there will be money spent on a trial. He will be found guilty, obviously. He will go to prison for life or on death row. We taxpayers will fund his living until his death which could be years, even if he gets the death penalty.
Why? This is why we are a nation in debt and financial issues in general. Wasted money!

C’mon people! I mean really, what is ONE DVD+R going to do for ANYONE!? You have got to be the biggest dumb ass if you actually took the time and effort to go get this.
Nothing against the poster, other than it’s funny, but with gas almost $4/gallon you’d be better off purchasing a DVD+R 25-pk or higher than running to get this ONE disk. That is of course unless you lived right next door or a little ways down the street from this person so you could walk.
I appreciate the effort to reuse or recycle but seriously!
Cirque Dreams Coobrila
I took the kids and their cousin, my nephew, to Six Flags Over Texas last Wednesday. We have season tickets with season parking so it’s not that big of deal other than time and gas cost for us to go when we want. We’ve already been twice which has already equaled what I paid for the season tickets.
We had a free ticket that was given to my youngest from school for reading six hours. It’s actually a pretty good deal. I mean how hard is it to read six hours to get a $60 ticket? If you were a dishonest child with dishonest parents, it would be even easier to do so if you get my drift.
Anyway, we got there around 2:30pm and didn’t get home until around 11:30pm. Reason was because the kids wanted to stay and see the show Coobrila. The show wasn’t until 9:30pm. The park closes at 10pm but the show didn’t get out until about 10:30pm. It’s a short show with a lot of things going on at once but it was still worth staying to watch especially since it isn’t any additional dollars over the park entry for the show. So, for us, it was free all around.
The picture is just one of many but it’s the entrance to the show. Click here to see just a few more.
R.I.P. George Carling (1937-2008)
I didn’t know of him when I was younger but when I got older and saw his stand-up bits on cable (probably HBO) I thought he was funnier than shit in a very intellectual way.
He was pretty funny in the movies he acted in as well.

From the Associated Press via Dallas News online:
MINEOLA, Texas — In the windowless front rooms of a former day care center in a tiny Texas community, children as young as 5 were fed powerful painkillers they knew as “silly pills” and forced to perform sex shows for a crowd of adults.
I don’t understand why we waste money on trials for cases that are pretty much cut and dry. Of course, I don’t know how cut and dry this was but it seems pretty obvious to me that these people need to be tied by their ankles and dragged around the town of Mineola to show others what happens to child predators and sickos that are “entertained” by such repulsive acts!
Basically, they should be made to suffer and then to suffer some more and then maybe they’d be put to a quick death.
This sort of crime and violence disgusts me. And then I’m disgusted more because we waste resources that could go to other things.
Economic stimulus
Sounds dirty, doesn’t it?
I got my economic stimulus check in the mail on Friday, June 20th. Which was right about the time it said I should get it on some web site I went to. I think it was the IRS web page or something. I Googled “economic stimulus check” about four weeks ago and I found this web page that said to click on the last for digits of my SSN or something like that and it said I should receive it in June. Well it was nearer the end of June but money is money!
So, I drove to the bank today to drop it in the night deposit. I was wondering if my bank will hold the amount (it’s $1,800 because I am married, filing jointly with two dependents) for a few days like they do with non-government checks. I laugh to myself because sometimes I think we all would trust other financial institutions more than we would the government when it comes to paying us money.
But as mentioned, money is money and I’ll take it to the bank and run!
Ped Egg

This product has been around for a few months or so but when you watch The Tennis Channel, they run the same damn commercials over and over and you are likely to see the same one 10-20 times during a particular broadcast.
If you have seen the commercials on TV, I think you’d agree with me on how gross they are. I mean, I don’t think I’ve EVER known or seen people with the examples of dry, callused feet. If you ask me, these people need more than the PedEgg!
Just thought I’d randomly share since I am watching The Tennis Channel. How sad am I that I am watching an old match…Monica Seles versus Martina Navratilova in the 1992 Wimbledon Semifinals…and liking it?

A quote from an article at Dallas Morning News online:
If anyone cares, I think I’ve got the perfect compromise. The City Hall poohbahs want a name change. The Latinos want their heritage honored. Why don’t we just use the Spanish word for Industrial?
That would be Industrial.
Has a nice ring to it.
I just don’t understand why there was ever a public vote. I guess it goes to show how stupid the Dallas City Council is when 1) they can’t come up with their own names, 2) they can’t make their own decisions and 3) they can’t stick to their decisions once they actually made one.
Cesar Chavez won in a straw poll. Big deal! Who says the city HAS TO name it that just because of some straw poll? Is a straw poll a recognized authority on city council decision-making? According to Wikipedia, here, it is not.
So, just stick it to the Latinos and say, “Sike!” and move on!! The city (government in general) does it all the time.
By the way, who the hell was Cesar Chavez anyway? I think the link is the right Cesar Chavez. I bet you a “straw poll” that most of the Mexicans and Latinos don’t know who he is either or even really care. The ones that do are the older ones and they are just trying to make a point…what that point is, I don’t know. Maybe that they can get 1 million mexicans to vote in a ridiculously ludicrous poll.
How about we call it Cesar Milan? It’s got a nicer ring to it and I’m sure everyone (brown, black, white, or yellow) knows who he is.
Oh well…moving on.

Um…what can be said about this one…that your mudda and fadda are majorly embarrassed that the whole Dallas News reading society knows they raised a royal dip shit? I wonder if Amnesty International wants to fight self-inflicted corporal punishment.

Saw an article on MSN about George Michael’s opinion on gay marriages. I clicked the link to the article and I thought it was amusing to see Zac Efron’s pic being advertised on the page.
